In this subject, we will list the main shipping terms which are mostly adopted between Mehen and our Customers. Before you study an official quotation from Mehen, please read the following instructions about shipping terms and ports.
For most transactions between Mehen and our customers, we will agree on shipping terms in FOB or CIF . Hereafter indicates the definition and operation for these two terms.

1. FOB Definition and Operation

FOB { Loading Port }

FOB - Free On Board - method of selling cargo excluding ocean freight and insurance, but including loading costs.

The delivery of goods on board the vessel at the named port of origin (loading), at seller's expense. Buyer is responsible for the main carriage/freight, cargo insurance and the risk after the goods is on board.

For example, if we agree FOB Shanghai, Mehen will be responsible for the delivery of goods on board at Shanghai, while our client will be responsible for the freight , cargo insurance and shipping risks..

In FOB terms, customer will assign a shipment company and provide their contact information of Chinese office to Mehen. When products is ready for delivery, Mehen will contact the company to carry out shipment.
We prefer shipping in Shanghai or Nanjing which is more convenient for us to declare the customs and transport the goods.

2. CIF Definition and Operation

CIF { the named port of destination}
Cost, Insurance and Freight - method of selling cargo where seller pays for loading costs, ocean freight and insurance.

The cargo insurance and delivery of goods to the named port of destination (discharge) at the seller's expense. Buyer is responsible for the import customs clearance and other costs and risks.

For example, if we agree on CIF Singarpore , Mehen will be responsible for freight, cargo insurance and shipping risks to Singapore, while our customer will take responsible for other costs and clearance customs at destination

In CIF terms, we would like our customers to offer the place of destination port and we can quote price in CIF (destination port). Mehen will get shipping company and cover the freight and insurance cost.
